Inside Out Day (Non-Uniform) on Thursday 6th February

28 January 2020 (by ADMIN (admin))

Dear Parents/Carers: We will be holding a non-uniform Inside Out Day on Thursday 6th February to support Children's Mental Health Week.

1 in 8 children and young people have a diagnosable mental health condition. This February, we’re supporting Place2Be’s Children's Mental Health Week - raising awareness of the importance of children and young people’s mental health.

This year's theme is FIND YOUR BRAVE. Bravery comes in all shapes and sizes and is different for everyone. Bravery can be about sharing worries and asking for help, trying something new or pushing yourself outside your comfort zone; it can build your confidence, self-esteem and make you feel good about yourself.  Life often throws challenges our way. Bravery isn’t about coping alone or holding things in. It’s about finding positive ways to deal with things that might be difficult, overcoming physical and mental challenges and looking after yourself. We all have times when we need to Find our Brave.

All classes will be supporting the theme through specifically focused lessons around Find Your Brave.

During the week we will be holding an Inside Out Day (Thursday 6th February). The day calls for the children to wear an item of clothing inside out as a way of making us all stop and think about how appearances can be deceptive -someone may look okay on the outside but inside they may be feeling sad or worried. It is a day to remind us to always be kind and think of others as no one knows how another person may be feeling.

We would like to support the charity Place2Be through our Inside Out Day and kindly ask that your child brings a donation, on Thursday 6th February, to support the charity.

Please see Mrs Lowe with any queries.
