GDPR

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is Europe’s new framework for data protection – it came into force on 25th May 2018 at the same time as the UK’s Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA 2018).

Since the UK left the EU the GDPR has become the UK GDPR and sits alongside the DPA 2018, and this will continue to be the case for the foreseeable future.

These regulations work together to control the way information is collected, stored and processed. Many organisations, including schools, academies and other educational establishments now operate within this new legal framework.

Woodfield Primary School utilises the services of Nexus Protect to manage and ensure they are compliant with the new rules and regulations and we have altered many of our policies and procedures in order to better protect the data we hold about our pupils, parents and staff.
