The Daily Mileâ„¢ is a simple and free initiative which gets children out of the classroom for 15 minutes every day, to run or jog at their own pace. Whilst making them fitter, healthier and more able to concentrate in the classroom, it has huge social and emotional benefits too. We are very fortunate at Woodfield to have a Daily Mile running track which was provided by Dave Whelan and opened by him in June 2016.
We recently took part in "England does the Daily Mile" along with primary schools around England, to get moving on the same day, to celebrate the positive benefits that daily activity can have on our mental health.
"It helps me with my mental health and stress."
"The Daily Mile is great because it keeps me fit, healthy and I can chat to my friends whilst taking part."
"I like running and it keeps me healthy. I am becoming a better runner and doing the Mile makes you faster!"
